Our mission is to change women’s lives through employment and empower them with the stepping stones to self-sufficiency.

About us

Women's Bean Project is a social enterprise with the mission to uplift women through employment and empower them to be change-makers in their own lives. We hire women who have struggled with chronic unemployment and faced barriers to creating the future they deserve. Participants of our program receive full-time pay as they develop job readiness skills, discover their talents, and strengthen their confidence. With these stepping stones toward success, our graduates are able to support themselves and their families, serving as role models for future generations.

We were lucky enough to have WBP 2019 graduate Chelsea and her daughter come to talk to current participants at the end of June about her experience during and after the program. Her powerful story of strength, recovery, and family made for an emotional Q & A session with participants that inspired them on their last day of Phase 1 before joining the production floor for Phase 2. Chelsea reunited with her daughter and father in Florida and recently became a registered nurse practitioner. #mondaymotivation #inspiringstories #inspiringwomen #womensbeanproject #wbpgraduate

From the Newsletter: Graduate Update Denise Lopez graduated from Women’s Bean Project in September 2023. She generously shared her story at Ready, Set, Grow 2024 as the graduate speaker. Her inspiring journey touched the hearts of hundreds, and continues to motivate other participants who encounter the same barriers that she overcame. She is currently thriving in her new career as an insurance agent after regaining her Property & Casualty License while at Women’s Bean Project. She has since worked for two agencies and currently has her own office for the first time ever. She earned her driver’s license and can now drive herself to and from the office. We are so proud of Denise and her continued success and wish her the best in her new position. In Denise’s words, “Adulting feels great!” Read the entire Summer Beanstalk Newsletter by clicking the link below! https://lnkd.in/g_jWHw62

From the Newsletter: Everyday Hero, Jen Spahr On June 11, longtime WBP supporter and volunteer Jen Spahr was honored as a Denver7 Everyday Hero. WBP nominated Jen for her invaluable contributions to our community. Jen Spahr has been involved with the Women’s Bean Project for over 10 years. Three years ago when she retired, she began volunteering regularly on the production floor. Today, she comes in every Tuesday (and during the holiday, Tuesday and Thursday) and works side by side with the program participants. She is so ingrained in our processes that she helps train and is an essential member of our team. Her consistency, reliability, and dedication are invaluable. Jen also works with us on continuous improvement of our warehouse operations and logistics. Before retirement she was involved in this line of work and we have benefitted greatly from her profession guidance. Congratulations Jen, and thank you for all your hard work! We're bean-counting again... No really! It's time again for The Bean Project's yearly physical inventory counts. As a result, our onsite retail store will be closed and online orders may experience 1-3 business days of delay in shipping. Regular store hours and shipping will resume on Monday morning, July 1. Thank you for your patience and continued support!
