Since 1984, Wire Rope Exchange has served as an information resource and marketplace for the heavy lifting, rigging and load securement industry. Simple and effective, the Exchange offers a way for companies to tell their story and market their inventory to buyers worldwide - in print and online at www.wireropeexchange.com. Wire Rope Exchange started as the brainchild of Pat Poe of Cumberland Sales Company. In 1984, faced with some overstocked products and stagnant inventory, Poe typed up a two-page letter describing his stock and mailed it to all of his customers. The idea worked well and soon caught on among Poe’s friends, who started asking him if they could add their own products to his letter. This short letter became a regular newsletter as more companies opted in. Eventually, Poe turned it into a bi-monthly magazine with thousands of product listings from over a hundred lifting and rigging companies. Today, Wire Rope Exchange reaches over 5,500 companies in more than 40 countries. Our magazine, website and social media accounts enable our members to gain market exposure for their products, and provide a platform for companies serving the industry to tell their story.
