In celebration of July as National Culinary Arts Month, Windham School District is proud to highlight the achievements of our Culinary Arts program, staff and students. Windham School District, with support from the Texas Department Of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), hosted its first Culinary Arts luncheon for staff on June 20, 2024, at the Ferguson campus. Attendees enjoyed a barbecue-style meal prepared by Windham’s Culinary Arts class. This collaborative event gave students hands-on catering experience, from menu and meal creation to serving guests.

About us
Windham School District (WSD) provides appropriate educational programs to meet the needs of the eligible incarcerated population, thus reducing recidivism by assisting individuals in becoming productive members of society. Studies show that education and employment reduce recidivism and save tax dollars. Many of the individuals in the Texas Departments of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) lack the educational background and basic skills necessary for attaining employment upon release.
