Over the years, we've had a few different entrances for children & families coming in for Forensic Interviews, but we've always had a red door. For years, red doors have symbolized safe places for travelers or those fleeing dangerous situations. As we conclude #NationalForensicInterviewWeek, we commend the remarkable courage of each child who has entered through our red doors. Additionally, we celebrate the dedication of our Forensic Interviewers, both past and present, who tirelessly foster safe environments for children in our community affected by abuse. ❤️

This week is #NationalForensicInterviewerWeek! We currently have 4 Forensic Interviewers on staff, but did you know two of our other team members, Jennifer Deazvedo and Victoria Algiere, were also Forensic Interviewers before transitioning into their current roles🌟

Did you know everyone over the age of 18 in the state of Texas is a mandated reporter of child abuse? The summer is a great time to attend child abuse prevention training to ensure you are a safe & protective adult for all of the children in your life: bit.ly/wccac-training

Keeping up with the demand for snacks & toiletries during the summer months is always hard. When school is out, we see an influx of siblings attending appointments with clients. The blankets children leave with after a Forensic Interview at the Children's Advocacy Center are more than a piece of fabric, they can serve as a comforting presence during times of crisis. Our friends & longtime supporters, Austin Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, invited our team to their regional conference & donated over 75 blankets to our facility. It was such an honor to spend the afternoon making new friends & connections with members from across the nation.
