Robinhood - Take a bow! What a great credit card you've launched. From the heavy, premium card itself (definitely nicer than the Chase Sapphire Reserve), the smooth application process to the excellent UI/ UX/ App. It's all great. What I like: Keeping it simple : The value proposition is simple and effective - 3% cashback across the board, on all purchases, with no limits or restrictions. This is the standout feature. It isn't complicated with revolving categories, time windows and different rewards across different merchants, categories, verticals or spending limits & category restrictions. It's an exceptional offer, easily better than the best cash back credit cards currently on the market. Now it does seem a little rich and time will tell if it's going to be a profitable product for Robinhood but as a consumer I love it. If the intent is to get this to be the top of wallet card then it sure succeeded. This became my top of wallet card before I even received the physical card. Focus on the family : Add-on cards are simple to apply for and configure in terms of transaction limits, building credit and family spending dashboards. It is also now the top of wallet card for my wife - moving away from the Apple card so we can track our household spend in one place. User at the front : Such a well designed, intuitive, simple app with features that I need and some that I didn't know I needed but definitely need now. There's nothing really new in terms of features. Other cards and apps often have them but Robinhood has made it simple and intuitive. Take virtual cards for example. Capital One offers this as well but with Robinhood you can set up the cards, manage and configure them easily. You can also set up free trial cards, one time use cards etc. I immediately set a card for all my bill payments, another one for online purchases plus have already used a couple of free trial cards. Now there's no sign up bonus but there's no fee either BUT you do have to be a Robinhood Gold member (which runs ~$50 a year) but that does get you a slew of benefits on the trading platform (which is a pretty good value in and of itself). I was already a Gold member to take advantage of the 5% interest rate on uninvested cash in my brokerage but otherwise just think of it as a card with a $50 annual fee that gets you Robinhood Gold membership for free.
