White Castle

Songs were sung, hikes were had, and so many memories were made! Recently, our #whitecastleteam had the opportunity to spend the day at Camp Oty’okwa for Big Brothers Big Sisters Latino Week, where we toured the campgrounds, made meaningful connections with campers, and led an activity focused on spreading kindness. Using non-toxic paints, campers and #whitecastleteam members alike painted rocks with beautiful images and words of encouragement to place throughout the camp – spurring excitement and happiness with every glance! Following this activity, we joined the campers in a traditional camp lunch (which wouldn’t be complete without the lunch songs), played board games, and got a peek into the many activities campers participate in during their stay (we’re still jealous of the science room!). Thank you, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, for having us – This is one of our favorite annual events, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!

Grateful to commemorate MLK Day at Ohio History Connection, where our #WhiteCastleTeam actively participated in the MLK Day of Service organized by Seeds of Caring. Shout out to our team members who dedicated their time to connect with Columbus youth, inspiring them to open their hearts and minds. Engaging in various activities, we encouraged the embodiment of MLK's spirit of service through acts of kindness. Additionally, we contributed to preparing items for donation to support our unhoused neighbors in Columbus. Proud to be part of a team that values community impact and service. #MLKDay #CommunityService

At White Castle, we are always looking for different ways to commemorate our veterans as part of our Diversity & Inclusion program. We respect and honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans to safeguard our country on Veterans Day and each day. This year, we sponsored and attended the National Veterans Inclusion Summit on November 9 in Columbus. The event focused on this year’s theme, Special Forces: The Power of DEI, which provided various perspectives and industries about D&I best practices, such as recruitment, development, and retention. The summit also discussed veteran resources, inclusion, and other concerns of our transitioning veterans. White Castle will be celebrating Veterans Day by offering a free combo meal to all veterans and active-duty service members who dine at a participating White Castle restaurant. This special offer is valid on Saturday, Nov. 11. #whitecastleteam
