About us
WeTheChange: Women Leading Business for Good WeTheChange is a group of women* CEOs of Certified B Corporations and other purpose-driven organizations brought together by a collaborative declaration. We are a community spanning a broad spectrum of gender identities, including cis-gender, transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming leaders in business. We acknowledge intersectionality and the reality that we need to change systems and structures that marginalize certain identities. WeTheChange began with a clarion call to all B Corp women CEOs asking, “What can we do together that none of us can do alone?” With the generous support and backing of Eileen Fisher, CEO of EILEEN FISHER, and recognizing the unique and powerful role that B Corp women CEOs play in creating a more just society, WeTheChange was founded in 2018 by Sara Schley, CEO of Seed Systems, Rose Penelope Yee, CEO of Green Retirement, and Kim Coupounas, B Lab’s Global Ambassador and former CEO of GoLite. The leaders in WeTheChange are committed to creating a new economy in service to all, where women don’t need to fight for a seat at the table. This requires a new way of leading, so we are making our own table that’s radically inclusive and richly regenerative, and we're inviting you to join us. The values of WeTheChange are in harmony with the social and environmental practices embraced by the B Corp community of businesses who meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental sustainability.

📆 WeTheChange meets every month on the last Wednesday. Last week, we capped off Pride month and kicked off 5 months of advocacy. Here's brief recap. In case you missed it, Alex Varricchio and Kiirsten May from UpHouse shared their research findings, providing insights into 2SLGBTQ+ perspectives on Pride marketing strategies across North America. Here are some takeaways. 🎉 Year-Round Inclusion: Emphasized continuous support for the queer community beyond Pride month, viewing June as the wrap-up party to celebrate year-long efforts. 🌈 Creative Initiatives: Highlighted partnering with local queer organizations, featuring diverse groups in marketing, and creating safe spaces at events. On advocacy, Sarah Bonk from Business for America kicked off our five-part series on meaningful civic engagement with valuable insights and actionable steps: 🌎 Current Challenges: Addressed the global decline in democratic practices and increasing political polarization. 🏛 Business Role: Stressed the importance of businesses upholding democratic principles and participating in civic engagement. ✅ Actionable Steps: Suggested offering employees time off to vote, providing voter registration resources, and supporting the "Protect Voters from Deceptive AI" bill. This month's meeting will be on July 31st. "Business: A Force for Democracy" will cover how your business can make a real difference and become a powerful agent of positive change Purpose-driven women and non-binary leaders can join our July 31st meeting for free: https://lnkd.in/gTeyWFs3
