As coastal Texas is starting to recover from the first in a series of expected dangerous Atlantic hurricanes, new flood risk standards were announced yesterday with an aim to enhance the resilience of public infrastructure. The Federal Flood Risk Management Standard (FFRMS) mandates that federal agencies account for both current and future flood risks in their decision-making processes when funding projects, ranging from bridges to fire stations. This new standard specifically applies to projects funded by FEMA, including new construction or repairs of buildings and infrastructure that have sustained significant damage. Weather Source’s Climate Insights products, including OnPoint Risk Analytics and Climate Change Risk, offer predictive analyses of climate change scenarios. These tools provide insights into the potential impacts of flooding, hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornadoes on global business operations, helping organizations strategically adapt and mitigate disruptive threats. https://lnkd.in/efTdUFG3 #FloodRisk #ClimateInsights #ClimateRisk #ClimateRisk Analytics #ClimatePreparedness For more posts like this, join our Climate Risk Intelligence Forum: https://lnkd.in/d65n8vt3
