Adaptive reuse – where creativity meets sustainability, and the past converges with the future. This industry-wide approach breathes new life into existing structures, transforming them into vibrant, functional spaces that resonate with the needs of today's world. By repurposing and reimagining, we're not just designing. We're crafting stories that honor the past while embracing the future. A prime example of this process can be seen at PS 343 Manhattan – The Peck Slip School, a “hyper-urban” environment that at one time was a postal facility. We worked closely with the State Historic Preservation Office to ensure that the history and character were not diminished as we renovated the exterior into a more contemporary look. The new UCA High School and Career Academy welcomes students next week, and we were thrilled to have had the opportunity to design this new educational facility in Asheboro, NC! This successful project utilized an innovative all-precast concrete structure, and it was delivered on time and within the owner’s budget. Celebrating transformational progress at North Carolina's #1 General Aviation airport, with the ribbon-cutting of two new 20,000 SF corporate hangars - thanks to our design-build team led by Shelco, LLC. A second project kicked off construction - the terminal building renovations, designed by the Walter Robbs Architects PA, a Michael Graves Company + C DESIGN partnership, will be built by I. L. Long Construction Co., Inc.
