Exciting news for Eau Claire! 📣 We are thrilled to announce that 2023 was a monumental year for Eau Claire County tourism, generating a staggering $459 million in total economic impact! This marks a back-to-back record-breaking year, with $284.5 million in direct visitor spending, a 5.4% increase from 2022, supporting 3,893 jobs and generating $31.4 million in state and local tax revenue. Statewide, Wisconsin welcomed 113 million visits, including a record 45.9 million overnight visits, contributing to Wisconsin tourism’s historic $25 billion economic impact. Joe Thiel, the CEO of Innovate Marquette SmartZone, as part of the Make it Marquette Initiative, and Holly Larson, the National Park Service-Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program planner, will be working with the group for the next year on outdoor recreation!
