How much should you pay to #hireaVirtualAssistant? If you're looking for numbers, what you'll find among the most popular US-based companies is that you can expect to pay between $35-48/hour. Think about it practically. First, evaluate the ROI - rather than focusing on a straight hourly range. A highly skilled and experienced Virtual Assistant can enhance your productivity by 30-40%, translating into significant business value. 📈Here’s how to conduct a cost/benefit analysis: 👉Assess Your Administrative Workload: For 2 weeks, track the time spent on tasks that could be delegated to an assistant. On average, most people spend 3-4 hours a day on admin work. 👉Value of Time: Calculate the monthly total, which could be around 40 hours—a full work week or 15-25% of your time on administrative duties. Consider the business impact of reclaiming this time. 👉Cost/Benefit Analysis: The ROI of a #VirtualAssistant is your hourly rate multiplied by the time spent on administrative tasks. (For instance, if delegating could allow you to generate an additional $1k of value each month, then investing around the same in #hiringaVA would yield a strong ROI.)

A decade ago, assistants were a luxury available only to the high-paid execs Assistants handled scheduling to competitive research, report gen, website updates, and marketing plan execution. Those professionals all over the world who have benefitted from an assistant will be the first to tell you that a great one is priceless. Yet, this service was impossible for small business owners with shifting workloads, unpredictable cash flow, and no office space. When Virtual Assistants came along in the last decade - that all changed. Tim Ferris, the “love him or hate him” venture capitalist with his book, The Four Hour Work Week, raved on the virtues of #hiringVirtualAssistants. In 2024, Virtual Assistants have since become the go-to choice. Think again before you think they're unaffordable: when you work with a company like Virtual Assist USA, we take care of all of the costs - including benefits, paid vacation, worker's comp, taxes, employment law compliance, and more. You will even find VA companies, like ours, who bill by the minute and have flexible payment options like bulk discounts or pay-as-you-go plans. Today's VAs are educated, experienced, and ready to launch at the push of a button. You - and your company - will save money by using a Virtual Assistant because: 👉You only pay for the time and tasks you need. Unlike in-office executive assistants, a professional Virtual Assistant charges you only for the time spent working on their project. On the contrary, hiring someone in-house means you need to pay for office chitchat time, required-by-law breaks, vacation time, and more. 👉No extra office space or equipment needed. Your VA is equipped with their own software, supplies, and equipment. If something breaks like an expensive laptop, it's on the VA company-- not you-- to be responsible for the replacement cost. 👉You get to rent their brain space, too. The best VAs tackle more than just their to-do list. They invest in continuing ed, so they're able to offer suggestions for improvement in your business. Having someone to guide you through using AI or automation, for example, can make a huge difference and give you an edge over competitors.

Delegating is hard, but it's critical for success. Last year, Google embarked on a quest to uncover all the behaviors that made some leaders more effective than others. The initiative became known as Project Oxygen. And what they found is that delegation is vital. There are limits, of course. You're certainly not going to offload projects related to strategic planning without oversight. But I'd venture to guess you have a number of other tasks you're holding onto. It's easy to hoard tasks-- simply because you have always owned them. But it's not effective. Here are some tips on how to determine what to #delegate: 1) Look at the goals. Break down the work and identify parts that can be delegated. Look at yourself. In which areas do you have strengths and responsibilities, and what should you delegate? 2) Discuss the project's significance. Tell your #VirtualAssistant about the impact the work has on the business. 3) Solicit questions, reactions, and suggestions. The conversation should be a two-way street. Remember, the goal is to put your VA in the driver's seat. Make sure they have all the information they need to assume ownership and accountability and to meet expectations. 4) Establish checkpoints, deadlines, and ways to monitor progress: Although they have autonomy, make sure your #VA knows the critical milestones they need to hit and what success looks like to gauge progress.
