Less than half a percent (0.47%) of PVC roofing production scrap ends up in landfills. The goal of CFFA’s Pathway to Zero initiative is to further reduce production waste to landfills and get as close to zero as an industry. Find out what steps CFFA VRD members are taking to close this gap. https://ow.ly/jVhw50SzHZr #PVCRoofing #PathwayToZero #Sustainability #ZeroWaste #EnvironmentalEfforts

Promoting the sustainability and durability of reflective vinyl (PVC) roofs
About us
CFFA - Vinyl Roofing Division was created to educate architects, specifiers, building owners, and roofing contractors on the attributes of PVC (vinyl) as a durable, reflective, heat-weldable material for single-ply roofing systems. It is backed by the Vinyl Roofing Division of the Chemical Fabrics and Film Association, which represents all leading manufacturers of thermoplastic PVC roofing systems in North America. The Division is committed to making available sound, scientifically-backed information on the environmental and functional performance of energy-efficient PVC roofing membranes.

For decades, reflective PVC roofs have been instrumental in reducing smog and greenhouse gas emissions. These roofs offer significant cooling energy savings, peak demand reduction, and overall net energy savings. With one of the longest lifecycles among roofing solutions, PVC roofs are recyclable and are often made from recycled materials, promoting a circular economy. PVC roofing membranes are made from a flexible, tear- and water-resistant polymer, reinforced with fiberglass or polyester woven scrims. This system provides outstanding stability, durability, and resilience to a building’s natural expansion and contraction. Additionally, their heat-weldable, watertight seams, fire resistance, and inherent strength enable PVC roofing membranes to withstand thermal cycles, wind loads, structural movement, and temperature extremes. PVC roofing membranes are crucial to green building initiatives, significantly lowering building cooling loads and mitigating the urban heat island effect. These roofs reflect over 80% of the sun’s rays and emit at least 70% of absorbed solar radiation, maintaining cool, energy-efficient buildings.
