    In a collaboration between Congressman Krishnamoorthi's office and the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways, $500,000 in federal funding has been secured for the Central Road project in Hoffman Estates and neighboring South Barrington. Mayor McLeod was very pleased to join Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison, South Barrington Mayor Paula McCombie, Trustee Gary Stanton and many others on July 16 for the announcement that the federal funding was secured for this important infrastructure project. "We appreciate the collaboration between Congressman Krishnamoorthi’s Office and the Cook County Department of Transportation in seeing this project to completion," said Mayor McLeod. "The Central Road project is a long-awaited improvement that will benefit businesses and residents here in Hoffman Estates."

This position involves developing and maintaining the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) operating environment, including ESRI GIS mapping software, SQL Server, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise, to support the Village's spatial data needs. The role requires the creation, acquisition, analysis, and management of spatial and tabular GIS data along with the necessary metadata, ensuring they meet the requirements of both internal and external clients. Starting salary range for this position is $77,819 - $85,990 DOQ.     The Village of Hoffman Estates seeks candidates for two Maintenance I - Streets positions in the Public Works Department. These positions perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the routine repair and maintenance of Village streets, rights-of-way, including trees, streetlights and traffic control signs, storm drainage system, facilities, grounds, water and sewer system, vehicles and equipment using a wide variety of equipment and tools. Street Maintenance workers participate in snow removal operations and other assigned activities and respond to and interact with residents, employees and/or others within and outside the organization in a courteous, professional and effective manner. The hours and schedule for the position are 6:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (8 hour shift - 40 hours per week) with schedule subject to change and may include Saturdays and Sundays. Compensation is accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement for Teamsters 700 members with a 2024 Starting Step of $28.9269/hr. ($60,168 annual).     Yesterday morning, Compass kicked off a new era at the former Sears Headquarters! 👢🏗 With the incredible support of our partners, Comed and the Village of Hoffman Estates, we announced the commencement of work to transform the historic site into our first Illinois hyperscale data center campus. We're thrilled by the enthusiastic and warm welcome from the Village of Hoffman Estates and ComEd. Special thanks to Mayor Bill McLeod ComEd CEO Gil C. Quiniones and World Business Chicago Chief Growth Officer Kyle T. Schulz for their remarks on the positive impact our 200-acre campus will bring to the community. At Compass, we go slow to go fast, putting #sustainability and #longevity at the forefront of everything we do. The demolition of the former HQ will span over a year, as we work to minimize waste and build a lasting legacy. Community feedback is an important part of the plan, so there are several opportunities for stakeholders to provide input. In addition to providing feedback on the interactive Hoffman In Motion website at www.hoffmaninmotion.com, stakeholders can also meet the planning team in person to share ideas for a community where getting around is easy, safe, and convenient. VisitHoffman is the virtual gateway to learning how to explore and experience the Village of Hoffman Estates and all the regional attractions.   This website serves as the digital foundation for the Village's Tourism Office, which supports the efforts of the NOW Arena, the single largest demand generator for the nine hotels, 70 restaurants and many event spaces in Hoffman Estates.
