"The proposed rule is completely out of touch with Nebraska’s reality," NHCA President and CEO Jalene Carpenter said. “This proposed rule isn’t a path to quality. Surveys of more than 140,000 employees are analyzed from Great Place to Work-Certified™ companies in the aging services industry. In the survey, 84% of employees say they are part of a great place to work, compared to 57% of employees at a typical US-based company. Employees share confidential quantitative and qualitative feedback about their employer’s culture, rating it as a great employee experience in terms of "trust, respect, credibility, fairness, pride, and camaraderie." To be considered for the list, companies must be Great Place to Work-Certified™ and be in the aging services industry. Companies with 1,000 employees or more are considered for the large category.

In today's Omaha World-Herald: A proposed federal minimum staffing rule for nursing homes would worsen seniors’ access to care in Nebraska and result in more closures. "Jalene Carpenter, president and CEO of the Nebraska Nursing Facility Association, said Nebraska’s nursing homes already perform better than their counterparts in other states, based on CMS’s quality rating system. The state already requires that facilities staff to meet the needs of residents, a system that is measured, reported and inspected."
