Did you know that sustainable fishing can help maintain healthy and diverse ocean ecosystems? This World Oceans Day, we celebrate progress in sustainable fishing, and how it contributes to protecting our ocean. Back in 2022, together as #OneVena, we achieved 8.2 million steps in a 1-day #WalkingTogether campaign to raise funds for the Ocean Stewardship Fund, a fund managed by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) which assists fisheries at all stages of their sustainability journey and aids research that will contribute to long-term improvements. With our support, an anchovy fishery in China is undergoing full assessment and is on track to achieving certification for their commitment to responsible practices.  We extend our heartfelt appreciation again to our incredible team for their efforts to raise funds for #marineconservation. Vena Energy is forging ahead towards carbon neutrality with a successful execution of a corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Mitsubishi Corporation Clean Energy.    This landmark agreement will facilitate the procurement of electricity generated by the Maibara Solar Project, a 31.65MW photovoltaic power station currently under construction in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture. Expected to generate enough clean renewable energy to power approximately 8,560 Japanese households annually, this project offers low-emission electricity generation equivalent to avoiding over 18,600 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per annum and saves up to 31 million litres of water annually compared to conventional thermal energy generation methods.    Raul Rienda, Head of Japan at Vena Energy, expressed gratitude to local governments and host communities for their support and allowing Vena Energy to harness the region's natural resources responsibly. He remarked, “Vena Energy has successfully reached the milestone of 922 MW in operating capacity across Japan. We are very honoured to collaborate with Mitsubishi Corporation Group on this journey towards carbon neutrality.
