Meet Frances, a System Analyst and Developer who has been a vital part of the V! Studios team since 2007! Frances’s role supports NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. She is the lead programmer for the RAPTOR (Research and Analysis Program Tracking of Resources) system, which is a financial application used to track research and analysis activities, manage funding, and ensure project success. RAPTOR has been an essential tool for SMD since 2006, providing a comprehensive solution for monitoring long-term projects and funding. In addition to her work with RAPTOR, Frances also designed and manages the Congressional Database Geographic Information System (CDBGIS), which uses Google Maps to provide a visual representation of funding information across the United States. This system helps customers in SMD understand and present funding distribution to Congress, showcasing how much funding each state and/or congressional district receives. As a lead developer, Frances excels in both front-end and back-end development, utilizing technologies like CSS, HTML, JavaScript, ASP.NET, C# and Microsoft SQL Server. She is also a dedicated database technical specialist, ensuring our systems run smoothly and efficiently. Fun Fact: In her spare time, Frances enjoys practicing yoga 🧘🏻♀️ and Chinese classical dance.

On this day 55 years ago, humanity made history with the launch of #Apollo11, the mission that would take humans to the moon. Photos, videos, and audio recordings of Apollo 11 can be found on NASA's image and video library, AVAIL (Agency Video Audio Image Library). As we reflect on this monumental achievement, we are proud to share that V! Studios's team of incredible developers designed and built this resource from scratch. This involved creating the entire system infrastructure, implementing the software architecture, and ensuring the functionality and reliability for users. AVAIL serves as a centralized library, allowing the public to access a vast collection of NASA photos, videos, and audio, including iconic moments from Apollo 11. Thank you PRSA Travel & Tourism Section and City of Greenville, South Carolina for an amazing experience at the 2024 Travel and Tourism Conference. It was our strategic communication and PR team's first time attending, and we learned so much. There were plenty of sessions covering various topics relevant to the industry. Some of our favorites included the crisis communications session and the storytelling and content creation session. We also thoroughly enjoyed learning about all the new technology and trends in AI.
