Barnum Effect Barnum effect occurs when people give high accuracy ratings to descriptions of their personality that they believe are tailored specifically for them. However, these traits are in fact vague and general enough to apply to almost anyone. The Barnum effect relates to widespread acceptance of some beliefs and practices, like astrology, fortune telling and some forms of personality tests. #uxd #cognitivebias #cognitive #bias #uxrs #ux101 #cx #ux #psychology #uxdesign #uxpsychology #designresearch #designstrategy #uxresearchandstrategy #userexperience #uxresearch #userresearch #uxlearning #uxprocess #uxinspiration #designinspiration #uxresearcher #creativethinking

CTA CTA stands for Call to Action. In web and product design, a CTA is usually a button and its main purpose is to induce people to take certain actions on a particular page or screen. Often this call to action is to purchase something, but it can also be for things like contacting the company or subscribing to a newsletter. #uxd #uxterms #termtuesday #ux101 #ux #uxdesign #uxrs #terminologytuesday #designresearch #designstrategy #uxresearchandstrategy #userexperience #uxresearch #userresearch #uxlearning #uxprocess #uxinspiration #designinspiration #uxresearcher #creativethinking

Photo Studies To learn more about a participant in their natural environment, you can conduct a Photo Study. In this UX research method, you ask people to take and share photos of their world, and ask them to explain the photos. You can learn a lot about a person through their photos, like: -See what is important to them -Learn about their process -Discover how their world is set up -Learn about the technology they use Use a Photo Study as a prompt for a conversation and a visual way to gather insights. #uxd #uxmethod #methodmonday #ux101 #cx #ux #uxdesign #uxrs #designresearch #designstrategy #uxresearchandstrategy #uxmethodmonday #userexperience #uxresearch #userresearch #uxlearning #uxprocess #uxinspiration #designinspiration #uxresearcher #creativethinking

Consistency Bias Consistency bias happens when a person incorrectly remembers their past attitudes and behavior aligns with, and resembles current attitudes and beliefs. People are hard wired to stand by a commitment that they have verbally shared, and this cognitive bias ties into that. Consistency portrays trust in a lot of people’s eyes, so consistency bias comes into play when a person wants to be perceived as reliable and trustworthy. #uxd #cognitivebias #cognitive #bias #uxrs #ux101 #cx #ux #psychology #uxdesign #uxpsychology #designresearch #designstrategy #uxresearchandstrategy #userexperience #uxresearch #userresearch #uxlearning #uxprocess #uxinspiration #designinspiration #uxresearcher #creativethinking
