It is finally July ☀️ and I have finally had a chance to catch my breath since Spring Quarter 🌷 has wrapped up to reflect on all the madness that has happened these past few months. Here are some fun things I wanted to share everyone 😃: ✨Celebrated being a Mary Gates Endowment For Students Leadership Scholar this past year at their annual reception and presenting my work as the UW Undergraduate Business Council VP of Service at the Spring CELEbration. 🌎 Being the lead from the UW American Marketing Association to co-host the Climate Solutions Summit alongside NetImpact and ReThink. I worked with amazing student leaders to host this two-day case competition (90+ competitors, $5000 in cash prizes, 5 brackets) and convention to engage students in learning more on how disruptions in the climate industry are being made to create a better future for tomorrow! 💜 Hosted the first-ever UBC Service Day in collaboration with my lovely sister, Kianna Bolante, COM² at UW. We saw an opportunity to bridge students from our schools (Business and Computer Science) together to work for a cause bigger than ourselves. I am so thankful to these RSOs, their leaders, and members for helping all along the way: Women in Business, Women in Computing, AIESEC, ASCEND, Corporate Banking Club, UW American Marketing Association, and Husky Sales Club. The Service Day initiative raised: 💛 24 Lego and 50 origami kits to Seattle Children's Hospital, 🖍 14 coloring sheets to Color a Smile, and 🎨 24 Art Kits to the Elizabeth Gregory Home. This was my last initiative as the VP of Service and I am so grateful to have been exposed to so many perspectives and share these experiences to help others! 👑 As an era ends, another one begins as I started my term as the UBC Co-President, alongside Kelley Zeng! I adore our team, filled with so much enthusiasm and passion to create a stronger community at Foster! 🤝 Full circle moment to high school Krisanta – Emily Dutka, Camila Alvarez Esquivel, and I got invited back to Fife High School to help coach their Future Business Leaders of America chapter on their way to for their national competitions. Going back to help is always so near and dear to me because I remember being so much more lost when I was in their position, seeing how much the students at Fife have grown genuinely inspires me continue to give back to my roots. 🌸 I am very proud and thankful to experience these opportunities! This quarter required heavy girl-bossing, which did not just stop there! Thank you to everyone who helped me through the lows as much as the highs.  Much more to come in my journey navigating my professional career! 😀 💼

🌟 Honored with the "Team Mom" Award from Foster School! 🌟 💖 On May 29th, 2024, at the UW American Marketing Association annual end-of-the-year PRISM Night, I was deeply honored and pleasantly surprised to receive the "Team Mom" award from Sydney, Iman, and the wonderful team. As the person with the least working experience in AMA, having just joined last fall quarter, and one of the two not from the UW Foster School of Business, this recognition went beyond my working abilities. It acknowledged my role as a "mom" leader, thanks to all my team members for their unwavering trust in me and for offering me the opportunity to serve and collaborate with them. 🤝 Throughout this year, I dedicated an average of 7 hours per week to our club activities. I reached out to 400+ marketing professionals across various fields in 3 quarters, connecting with individuals from 100+ different companies. About 73% of them later transitioned to become my LinkedIn friends, opening doors for future marketing initiatives. I organized 20+ Wednesday Speaker events, each attracting a half-full classroom with over 90 percent satisfaction rate, and coordinated a tour for 23 people at Amazon, where I repeatedly heard, "This is the best company tour we’ve ever had!" 📣✨ My role as VP of External Relations' title was continually reinforced through each event's practices, practicing similar tasks in different scenarios, and serving the best interests of our community. Like a salesperson for AMA, I always strive to deliver the best AMA resources to all UW aspiring marketers in the most effective and impactful way. Sydney’s words, "For everyone who knows Jessica, you will find this 'Team Mom' award goes to no one else but her," were the most touching and memorable. From last spring 2023, having only 17 LinkedIn connections, to now having over 400 meaningful connections, the "Team Mom" title has always inspired me to serve more people with passion, dedication, and true leadership. 🌟 Thank you to everyone who attended or supported AMA in any way. Your involvement made all our efforts visible! 🌟 📩 To current and future UW aspiring marketing students, especially international students: Join this RSO for our 2024-2025 year! It’s the best chance to get involved with local communities and friends, enhance your marketing-related skills, and make meaningful industry connections. As Spring quarter wraps up, so does my recent role as a Marketing Consultant with the UW American Marketing Association Agency. Over the past few months, I've had the privilege of diving headfirst into the world of Search Engine Optimization, working alongside a fantastic team of five, and partnering with a local Seattle Nursery business. I had the chance to create an entirely new SEO process tailored to our client's unique needs. Working on SEO was new to me, and from mastering the nuances of on-page and off-page SEO to tracking and measuring traffic, every aspect of this journey was a learning opportunity. As someone new to the world of SEO, I loved this opportunity that gave me the chance challenge myself and expand my skill set. Fast forward to the end of the quarter, and I had the privilege of presenting my findings and recommendations to our client in a comprehensive hour-long presentation. It was incredibly fulfilling to see how our efforts had translated into tangible results for their business and to know that I had played a part in their success. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to my incredible teammates for their support and dedication throughout this journey. As I look ahead to what the future holds, I'm excited to continue honing my skills in SEO and exploring new opportunities for growth and learning in the field of marketing!

An incredible immersion into marketing at Amazon! I found exploring the data-driven marketing and analytical aspects particularly fascinating. It highlighted that marketing encompasses not only creativity but also a strong analytical dimension. The speakers provided a wealth of wisdom on work experiences, customer satisfaction, and overcoming challenges. Huge thanks to Xiaofeng (Jessica) Zhu, Katie Han, and Charles Tocatlian 👏 for organizing this event so well! Thanks also to UW American Marketing Association & Transportation, Shipping, & Logistics at Amazon for making it happen! I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the behind-the-scenes stories of how products are processed and organized. This experience has deepened my understanding of marketing's dynamic nature and its pivotal role in today's business landscape.

🌟 Event Highlight: May 13th, 2024 🌟 📍 Hosted by Amazon and UW American Marketing Association 🎙️ Special Guests: Rebecca Salt and her team (Raj Sihra, Paola Noel, Simran Dhindsa, Tiffany Sumner, Laura Cawley, Jennifer O., and Joe Marcus) 🎉 Yesterday, I had the incredible honor of independently leading the AMA company tour series event for the first time with my Leadership Committee (Charles Tocatlian and Katie Han) for University of Washington's aspiring marketers. This journey began with reaching out and building connections with Seattle's local marketing professionals, organizing logistical details, and sharing planned event information with students. The culmination was a successful event held at Amazon's Bellevue Office. Seeing the event come to life and receiving glowing feedback from Amazon was a deeply rewarding experience, prompting me to reflect on my role as a leader and how I can better serve my communities. Personal Takeaways from Our Distinguished Speakers: 🚀 Rebecca: "Lead from the seat you're in." 🌱 Simran: "Balance the art and science of marketing by blending data-driven decisions with creativity." 🗣️ Tiffany: "Enhance communication through small actions—read more books, interact with people, and seek opportunities to hone presentation skills." 🌍 Laura: "Embrace cultural diversity through mindful language use and engaging with people from different backgrounds." 🤝 Jennifer: "Give back to the community that nurtured you." 🎯 Joe: "Ensure the right product reaches the right customer at the right time." 💡 Reflecting on the Event Seeing the satisfied smiles and enthusiastic faces of attendees reaffirmed the event's success. The insights from our speakers on their work experiences, commitment to customer satisfaction through marketing, and resilience in overcoming challenges provided a wealth of wisdom for us as entry-level professionals. 📩 Moving Forward This experience has inspired me to think more about benefiting a larger student community in the future. The past month my team and I had the honor of taking on a challenging, yet enthralling case developed by Professor Phillip Bruner during the week-long, university-wide Climate Solution Summit Case Competition hosted by Net Impact UW Undergraduate, UW American Marketing Association, 2050 Project, ReThink @ UW, and UW Climate Risk Lab, where we placed first among all UW teams. My team presented the SOLACE initiative, proposing a practical, yet innovative solution that would redesign public policy incentive structures, facilitate workforce development in underserved communities, and foster solar equity for individuals without property ownership. Greatly inspired by our achievements with SOLACE, we look forward to future opportunities to innovate and make a difference! 🌎 As team captain, I would like to give a huge shoutout to Matthew Chu, Angelina Chang, and Alex Ma for their amazing work and sleepless nights during the week-long competition. Additionally, special thanks to Krisanta Bolante for all her support and organization of this fantastic event.
