Here's what no one is telling you when you ask "How can I stand out during the application process?" You need to be doing what everyone else is NOT doing. ⭐ If everyone is only applying for top, big name companies, consider submitting some applications to smaller/midsize companies who also have robust internship programs. Diversify your application pool. Don't let the internet fool you, not everyone's 1st internship isn't at a huge company and that's 100% okay. Sign up for job boards that exclusive share early career opportunities such as WayUp, Handshake, Jopwell, PhilanthroSee, FYJUMP, Tech Ladies®, Generation Hired. ⭐ If everyone is forgetting to add quantifiable, detailed information on their resume make sure you are. Don't just list out your responsibilities, paint a picture with numbers tired of creating a traditional resume, think outside-the-box and created a themed resume like someone did for Spotify (ex: https://lnkd.in/gmHj85HH) or a video resume like I did for TikTok (which landed in a full time offer, btw, https://lnkd.in/g3SBadE8) I never "traditionally" applied for Tik Tok, I submitted a video resume ⭐ If everyone is forgetting to do their research before an interview, make sure you did. Here's my non-STAR focused interviewing tactic that wins my interviewers over every. single. time: https://lnkd.in/ggnkv7vi ⭐ If everyone is forgetting to ask post-interview questions, make sure you have at least 5-7 ready to ask during yours. ⭐ If everyone is forgetting to send a post-interview follow up email, make sure you ask your interviewer for their email and send them one after your interview. ⭐ If everyone isn't leaning on their network to make connections, make sure you are and use sites like Refer Me and Blind to find people willing to give you referrals. The truth is, the job market is TOUGH right now especially for students and new grads. You need to do everything you can to stand out and these are things that worked for me and helped me land offers at TikTok, Bumble Inc., Tinder etc. Follow Jade Walters for more #earlycareer content! #interviewing #applicationhelp #resumewriting #internships #genz #theninthsemester #jobsearchstrategies #jobsearchhacks #jobsearchtips

🤢 What's the one question that recruiters find the most off-putting during interviews? We dug deep and analyzed responses from some of the top recruiters on Linkedin, and the clear winner is: "What is the company culture like?" It's an outdated question that does not ask what we really wanna know: "What's the catch?" So, we gathered 12 alternative questions that will help you to impress recruiters, stand out among your competition, and give you the answer. Remember, interviews go both ways! Demand the answers you need to ace your decision-making. 💪 . . . . . #referme #interviewtips #careers #jobseekersupport #jobsearchtips

Looking to crack into #FAANG companies amid all lay-offs? 🚀 It might sound shocking, but tech giants like [F]acebook (Meta Platforms), [A]mazon, [A]pple, [N]etflix, and [G]oogle, remain the powerhouses that many aspire to join. Around 40% of hires come from a referral but only 7% of applications come with a referral. Dominick Tavitian from Refer Me talked to us about getting referrals into FAANG (and not only)! Check out our recent Substack - link in the first comment.

Did you know that referred hires stay 70% longer than other employees? 🏃♀️ If you seek job security in today's turbulent tech industry (amid over 200K lay-offs), referrals are the way to go. 🥸 But what's in it for employers, you ask? By hiring candidates recommended by trusted connections, employers enjoy: - Higher employee retention rates (up to 40%!), - Longer employee tenures (45% of referral hires stay longer than four years), - Significant cost savings ($1,000 less on average for each referral hire). - Plus, referral employees are 25% more profitable. 🤝 And let's remember the guy who referred you. Referring to someone can yield a handsome reward. Did you know an average employee referral bonus of $2,500? But at some companies, it can even go up to $5,000. That's a week's worth of pay for many people. 💃🕺👯♀️ As you can see, it's a win-win-win situation for everyone involved. So, don't hesitate to contact that guy you haven't spoken to in years. No more awkwardness or hesitation. Who knows, he might just be your ticket to your first interview. And if you don't have a connection at your dream job, use Refer.me. We have a database with over 3️⃣,5️⃣K people eager to refer you to the top companies. Ready to take your career to the next level? Drop 💼, and we'll DM you one month of free Refer.me Premium to test yourself how the power of referrals works. . . . . . #Referme #CareerBoost #ReferralPower #Jobtips #CareerTips
