From July 26 to August 4, all Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism staff will be taking an organization-wide pause. During this time, our staff members will be stepping away from our work, which includes the daily processing of incoming Rapid Response Grants, emails, and meetings. We will resume our normal operations on August 5. This pause is a radical and political feminist act that gives us an opportunity to continue infusing holistic care into our work while actively honoring our commitment to Urgent Action Fund’s feminist values of centering wellbeing and care. See you online again very soon!

In June 2024, the controversial Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence, which severely restricts civil society in the country, went into effect in Georgia. This law paves the way for state surveillance, scrutiny, and further stigmatization of civil society activists and organizations in Georgia. Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism's Executive Director Kate Kroeger co-authored an article with Salome Chagelishvili (Women’s Fund Georgia) and Nino Ugrekhelidze (Dalan Fund) for Alliance magazine that explores how funders can directly address this threat. Together, we highlight and uplift the growing need to invest in grassroots efforts working to defend democracy and human rights in Georgia. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eWiNrWbx
