Artist LeAndra Crystal’s proposal for the Food Is Community, Waste Less mural was selected from submissions from a Request for Qualifications managed by the Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville in partnership with Urban Green Lab and The Turnip Truck.

As we commemorate Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom, we want to bring awareness to freedoms commonly overlooked, particularly for Black communities and communities of color: the human right to clean air, clean water, healthy food, and thriving communities.
