  • What an incredible Urban League University! Our summer programming concluded this past week. Students ended the week with a final restorative practice circle, reminding each other of their own power, how they can affect positive change, and how they can overcome barriers. Then, they had fun celebrating their accomplishments at a bowling party! We are so grateful to the volunteers who lent their experience, advice, and wisdom throughout this year's ULU. You helped to make this summer memorable and fun. Remember, education is power!

  • Urban League University is still going strong! This past week, students had the opportunity to participate in a robotics lab and learn the intricate details of creating, building, and maintaining robots and how they have changed our world. They also enjoyed visiting the Kiewit Luminarium, where they had fun with hands-on learning and exploring science activities. We love helping our youth grow through new experiences that challenge them. Urban League truly believes that education is power.

  • ⭐ Whew, what a fantastic week we had at Urban League University last week! ⭐ 🔴 Participants discussed emotions, how to regulate them, and how to focus on the good in everyone. 🔴 We were honored to host Dr. Coffey from McMillian Middle School, who delivered a powerful message about the significance of overcoming barriers and the value of pursuing education and personal goals. His visit also marked the introduction of the exciting Shark Tank Competition! 🔴 Our friends at MCC spoke about the role of agriculture in the world and hosted students at their container farm 🔴 A mid-week Juneteenth Community Service Project was organized with our friends at Koley Jessen. This project aimed to honor Juneteenth's history and significance while also giving back to the community. 🔴 Staff spoke to students about peer mediation and overcoming conflict, and they all participated in role-play. 🔴 The week ended with students presenting their Shark Tank ideas. What a powerful week of learning while having fun and gaining impactful life skills! We are so proud of the students participating in ULU and spending their summer with us. -
