Eight University of Cambridge Museums and Botanic Garden. Five million marvellous objects to discover.

About us

Together, the eight University of Cambridge Museums and Botanic Garden represent the UK’s highest concentration of internationally important collections outside London. With more than five million works of art, artefacts, and specimens, the collections have supported nearly 300 years of investigation into the world around us. At the University of Cambridge Museums Consortium, we work across the nine collections and with other museums in the city and region in a range of different areas, from programming and learning to research and conservation, to maximise our collective impact for our audiences. We develop collaborative projects and partnerships to drive research with global impact, strengthen the regional cultural sector, improve access to and representation within our collections, become more sustainable in our practice, provide creative programming for all ages, and widen participation with our collections. Our work is supported by Arts Council England (NPO), Research England, Cambridge City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council. The University of Cambridge Museums are: - Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology - Museum of Classical Archaeology - The Fitzwilliam Museum - Kettle’s Yard - The Polar Museum - Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences - Whipple Museum of the History of Science - Museum of Zoology and - Cambridge University Botanic Garden.
