This month, the mighty, mighty Women of #Tocqueville Steering Committee gathered to celebrate another triumphant year of serving North Texas through their incredible giving, advocacy and volunteerism. The excitement kicked off at the North Texas Food Bank, where WOT members packaged nearly 5,000 meals to help close the hunger gap and provide nutritious food to our neighbors in need. Then came a powerful moment of reflection on the collective impact stemming from the group’s 15 initiatives generated to support our Aspire United 2030 goals—UWMD’s North Star for driving transformational change and advancing racial equity in education, income and health throughout North Texas. We were pleased to end the day with a celebratory reception and dinner to thank Michelle Horton for her outstanding service as the 2023-2024 WOT Chair. Thank you, Michelle, for your servant leadership this past year! We are grateful to all our mighty, mighty WOT for their support and commitment to UWMD. Thank you for enriching the North Texas community through your incredible dedication and fiery passion! 

This past spring, our vice president of financial stability planning and coordination, Greg Mangum, joined Paula D'Ambrosa and Nordia Savage, LMSW at the national Asset Funders Network conference in New Orleans to spreadhead a session exploring the ways community and business leaders can work together to advance workforce development and economic mobility in local neighborhoods.    With investments from our philanthropic partners, we’ve been fortunate to be at the forefront of this work in North Texas through our Pathways to Work program. We had a blast teaming up with our dedicated Mr. Cooper volunteer partners at this month's digital backpack assembly, working together to make magic happen as part of our Digital Bridges program and partnership with the CARDBoard Project. Volunteers assembled hundreds of digital backpacks, ready to be gifted to students participating in our free digital skills classes—which equips adults and families with meaningful financial, workforce development, resume building and computer skills. These backpacks are stuffed with educational resources designed to help our neighbors thrive in life. A huge thank you to Mr. Cooper and its phenomenal employees and leaders.
