From Colorado to Mexico and beyond, the United Way Network is collaborating with the LGBTQ+ community to help everyone thrive: 🏳️🌈 Eight years after the Pulse nightclub tragedy, Heart of Florida United Way continues to stand with the LGBTQ+ community, providing ongoing support through partnerships with the LGBTQ+ Center Orlando and the Zebra Coalition, offering holistic, trauma-informed services. 🏳️🌈 In Fort Collins, Colorado, United Way of Larimer County is dedicated to addressing the mental health crisis among LGBTQ+ youth, working with local partners to provide support and creating art like an interactive mural that shares messages of encouragement from LGBTQ+ teens. 🏳️🌈 United Way México and P&G are empowering the Muxe community -- a third gender among the Zapotec people in Oaxaca -- through job opportunities and financial security initiatives. 🏳️🌈United Way Costa Rica (Alianza Empresarial para el Desarrollo, AED) leads The Pride Connection Costa Rica that, in partnership with 40+ companies, develops corporate initiatives to promote LGBTQ+ rights. The heart for giving in our team always amazes me. For many years now, our team has rallied together to raise funds for the United Way of Larimer County to help support kids and neighbors in need in our community. This year, through a series of events, including ping pong, pickleball, and cornhole tournaments, as well as a spaghetti lunch fundraiser and cash donations, our team collectively raised over $11,000! That is the most we’ve ever raised! It’s awesome to watch the people of Madwire come together to Make A Difference (MAD). A special thank you to Farra Lanzer for coordinating everything for us!

🌈 We're proud to working with Rocky Mountain Equality formerly Out Boulder County, and other fantastic organizations to address mental health challenges for LGBTQ+ youth in Northern Colorado. "Right now, what we're really seeing is a mental health crisis among our youth,” says Joy Sullivan, President and CEO of United Way of Larimer County. One in three kids identifies as LGBTQ+, with alarmingly high rates of mental health challenges. One visible outcome of our partnership, with support from Imagine Zero, The Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County, and the Fort Collins Mural Project, was the interactive mural, outside of the Community Impact Center that incorporates a QR code that brings to life messages from LGTBQ+ youth regarding their mental health experiences.
