Team UNFI & CUB associates amplified our commitment to LGBTQ+ rights at last weekend’s Twin Cities Pride festival and event! Thank you to our LGBTQ+ associate-led network, PRIDE BIG, for volunteering with our community members to spread awareness of local LGBTQ+ brands, businesses, and peers and to share the importance of inclusivity for all! Together, we celebrated Pride Month with over 650 vendors and collaborated with 6 LGBTQ+-owned UNFI-partnered brands in our second home base of Minneapolis. This Disability Pride Month, we're celebrating the achievements of DREAM BIG, UNFI's Disability Belonging and Innovation Group, for their commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all. In the past year, DREAM prioritized digital accessibility in our virtual workplace by creating the "Digital Accessibility Toolkit" with guides, videos, and best practices. We also held monthly focus sessions for body doubling to help with productivity and organized panel discussions for caregivers and individuals with disabilities. These tactics not only create belonging for our associates but also for our business partners, creating opportunities that benefit our growing network. Our commitment to inclusivity and support is ongoing. On July 17th, members of the DEI team and DREAM BIG will attend the Annual Global Disability:IN conference to bring back best practices for inclusion and support our journey of creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace.  #UNFI #DisabilityIN #Inclusion #Digital #Accessibility

Team UNFI was loud and PROUD at last weekend's 48th annual Rhode Island Pride Fest! Thank you to our LGBTQ+ associate network, PRIDE BIG, for contributing over 100 volunteer hours alongside our local businesses, peers, and LGBTQ+ brands, highlighting the importance of pride within our communities. Another big thank you to the several LGBTQ+- owned brands we partner with for generously donating products to give out at this year's parade. Often referred to as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, and Emancipation Day, Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas. It is a pivotal day in American history and is a symbol of freedom and liberation. UNFI is a proud sponsor of Juneteenth celebrations in Henrico, Minneapolis, and Providence, and we remain committed to equality as founding circle members of Acres - Cultivating Black Agriculture with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).

Yesterday, we were honored to receive the Hunger Champion Award from our partners Atlanta Community Food Bank in recognition of our ongoing work together. Millions of people living in the U.S. are food insecure, and we applaud the great work of organizations like ACFB who are making a difference every day. Matt Echols, our Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and Chairman of the UNFI Foundation, accepted the award on behalf of the 400+ UNFI associates who work hard every day to deliver to safe, nutritious food to our metro Atlanta communities. As an important part of the food supply chain, UNFI is proud to work with local partners like the Atlanta Community Food Bank to help end hunger. In 2023, we donated over 52 million pounds of food to our food bank partners nationwide and look forward to continuing to make a difference together. #UNFI #FoodBank #community #donation

In celebration of National Dairy Month, we raised our glasses to CHEESE at the American Cheese Society’s Judging and Competition! Our UNFI Specialty team participated in this year's American Cheese Society (ACS) judging competition, the biggest event for American-made cheeses. We supplied refrigerated trailers containing 1,595 cheeses from 228 companies, allowing us to support a variety of cheese producers and their high-quality, artisanal cheese. All the leftover cheese was donated to a local Minnesota charity, Loaves and Fishes, whose mission is to provide healthy meals for Minnesotans in areas where need is greatest, because everyone deserves to meet their basic needs for food, dignity, and respect. Thanks to ACS for hosting a successful event and celebrating the craftsmanship and quality of artisanal cheese.
