Congrats to our newest Carolina Care Champions, Jessice Wenck and Cynthia 'Candy' Perry from our Critical Care Unit! In their nomination it said: “I wanted to take a moment to praise two amazing nurses Jessica and Candy working in the CCU with a patient. I am a sign language interpreter and contractor with UNC Health Blue Ridge. I have worked with MANY nurses in my 15 years of being an interpreter and I must say these are two of the best nurses I have ever come across. They worked seamlessly as a team, were incredibly respectful to me as a team member, listened emphatically to the patient and most of all treated the patient with extreme dignity and respect!” Thank you, Jessica and Candy, for going above and beyond with your compassion and patient care! #OneGreatTeam

Congrats to Teammate of the Week, Lacey Pope, CNAII/OB Tech! Lacey has this to say about working at UNC Health Blue Ridge: "I enjoy working in the Family Center and my 14-year career here has been very rewarding. I love taking care of my patients with the help of all of the staff that I work with (who have become family). We have a very supportive team, and even on the hard days, we know we have each other’s back! Working on this unit has given me the opportunity to provide excellent care to mothers during their labor and coach them through all the very tough moments before they get to meet their tiny bundle of joy and their family's newest addition."
