Members of the UCP Adult Family Care (AFC) team met with other providers from across the state, with the MASS Council for AFC, to advocate for the importance of what our programs do and 2 acts that we are currently looking for their support on. Both acts expand the role of caregivers to include guardians, power of attorneys and spouses to be eligible paid caregivers for their family members. UCP of Western Massachusetts' staff had the privilege of meeting with Senator Paul Mark's staff, Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier, and Representative John Barrett. We were able to share our personal stories of how these acts will expand the services of the members we already provide supports to, and for future members to have an opportunity to remain in their homes with their families. #ucpwma #lifewithoutlimits #adultfamilycare

Great evening in honoring the memory of Lisa Jacobs by granting two worthwhile students with a $1,000 scholarship each.
Excited to share one of my favorite new initiatives the Lisa Jacobs Memorial Fund at UCP of Western MA! This year, we proudly awarded $1,000 scholarships to Talia Kapiloff of Mt. Greylock and Alexandra Bills of Wahconah. We are excited to be having our first Assistive Technology Regional Center open house happening on Thursday May 9th! We invite and welcome our community to come visit our space and learn about all the assistive technologies we have for trial and loaning. We are doing live demonstrations and will have a raffle for a chance to win some AT. Come meet staff and learn what resources UCP has to offer. UCP of Western MA Open House. Thursday, May 9th. We will have two sessions. 9am - 11am and 4pm -7pm. We are located at 75 S Church St. in Pittsfield MA on the main level, suite 201.
