🥇 Extremely excited to share that my team and I won 3 competitions this May, being awarded over $41,000 in prizes! · 1st place overall, UC Irvine Stella Zhang New Venture Competition, $20,000 · 1st place in the Business Products and Services Track, UCI SZNVC, $10,000 · 1st place, UCI Butterworth Product Design Competition, $10,000 · 2nd place, C&C Innovative Solutions SoCal Super Pitch Competition, $1,250 Over the last 5 months, my amazing team (Kevin Wu, Cody H., Nathan Ampudia, Michael Ross, and Kyle Deck) and I have worked hard to build Sentinel: the first driver-conscious AI dashcam to detect distraction and fatigue. 🚛 Sentinel is powered by an array of onboard sensors and machine learning models to catch when truckers fall asleep at the wheel or are distracted while driving so it can alert them and prevent potential accidents. It gives fleet managers powerful insights while preserving the privacy and autonomy of drivers, utilizing emerging tech in AI and ML to innovate on various technical fronts. Watch our pitch here: https://lnkd.in/gHxvdkVw Building Sentinel was a life-changing opportunity and experience to work with so many great minds and to participate in these competitions which will forever impact my entrepreneurial journey. 🙏 I want to give a major thank you to everyone who made these victories possible: Stella Zhang for her incredible gift to the University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business by funding the New Venture Competition. As well as Jenn Huynh and the UCI Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (BCIE) for dedicating a massive amount of time and effort to organize this event. Our coaches, who generously volunteered their time and expertise to mentor us from idea to action, Vikas Tuteja and Mike Hernandez. Paul Butterworth for his gracious donation to launch the Butterworth Product Design Competition at the UC Irvine Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences. David Ochi for being UCI's funniest presenter and helping organize this huge production. All of the judges (more than 100 people!), who gave their knowledge and experience to judge for these competitions. Also wanted to acknowledge the UCI ANTrepreneur Center for their continued support!
