The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has awarded UC Davis Health a three-year, $3 million grant. The prestigious award will fund research into the causes, complexities, and potential solutions to gun violence in disproportionately impacted Black and Brown communities. The grant will support studies conducted by the Black & Brown Collective, a multidisciplinary network of several institutions co-founded by Shani Buggs. “This award allows UC Davis to continue our efforts to reverse the negative impacts of racism and violence on disproportionately impacted communities of color,” said UC Davis Chancellor Gary S. May. _______________________________ #ucdavis #ucdavishealth #universityofcalifornia #goags #aggies #medicine #gunviolence #publichealth #violenceprevention #underservedcommunities #equity

As part of the PowerSchool Education Fund, we're proud to partner with universities across the U.S. to help reduce the barriers for education students to enter the teaching profession. In 2021, The University of California, Davis - School of Education became our first partner university distributing over $61,000 to students from diverse backgrounds in an effort to transform education and eliminate inequalities in schooling. Recently, the UC Davis School of Education recognized PowerSchool and Chief Product Officer, and UC Davis School of Education Board Member, Marcy Daniel for the positive impact the Education Fund has made over the past 2 years.
