This past August 2023, U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services Offices, in the Districts of Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Middle Florida, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Southern Iowa, and Eastern Texas, hosted our first ever Diversity, Equity, Inclusion + Leadership Conference. This conference was held in the beautiful Twin Cities of Minneapolis, MN, Mall of America. The conference was well attended and featured dynamic keynote and workshop speakers, to include multiple panel discussions. For those in attendance (in-person and virtual), we hope you learned a lot. For future federal judiciary criminal justice practitioners, I hope this offers some insight of how you can positively impact and continue the mission of DEI and leadership. As one keynote speaker once said, "we are addicted to education, yet allergic to application." Let's change this approach, applying what we learn for the betterment of our organizations, community, and each other. "See the possibilities and inspire change"
