We are Texas lawyers and advocates for Texas communities, fighting for y’all in and out of the courts since 1990.
About us
We are Texas lawyers and advocates for Texas communities, boldly serving the movement for equality and justice in and out of the courts. We envision a Texas where all communities thrive with dignity and justice, and without fear. TCRP believes that legal advocacy and litigation are critical tools to protect and advance the civil rights of everyone in Texas, particularly our State’s most vulnerable populations, and to effect positive and lasting change to law and policy. We believe that by serving the rising social justice movement in Texas with excellent legal representation and bold strategies, we can respond to the needs of the communities we serve.

Texans know that staying cool during summer is a way of life. We know the importance of making sure our loved ones have everything they need to stay cool. Still last year, at least forty-one people died in uncooled prisons during the state’s record-breaking heat wave. These deaths could have been prevented if not for Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) insufficient heat protocols that fail to protect those who live and work in TX prisons. That is why TCRP, with support from Haynes and Boone LLP, has filed an Amicus Brief in support of a preliminary injunction against the TDCJ. The plaintiffs, Lioness Justice Impacted Women’s Alliance, Coalition for Texans with Disabilities, Texas Prisons Community Advocates, and Texas CURE, seek emergency relief from the extreme heat crisis affecting every individual in Texas prisons.
