Starting as a Cost Accountant years ago, I realized mining was my calling while managing the North American mining sales for a small manufacturing company for more than a decade. What I learned is that the same journey that taught me the value of hard work, honesty, and strong relationships—are essential qualities every employer in the industry is looking for right now. Tyler Vincent's Safety Reminder of the Month: Height Awareness Every month, our new Director of Safety will share a safety reminder with our team, providing practical tips for everyone to keep in mind as we go about our work. This month's focus is on Height Awareness! - "Many workers across the U.S. face the risk of falling when working at different heights and can be seriously injured or killed. Since 2020, there have been 13 fatalities from slips or falls in the mining industry, and on average, a worker dies every 17 days in the construction industry from a fall-related incident. Despite advances in technology and rescue efforts, falls remain one of the top five fatality categories each year. So why are we still facing so many challenges as an industry, and what can we do at Turner Mining Group to help reinforce safety? We start by encouraging understanding and adherence to safety protocols outlined by MSHA because following the fall protection guidelines can and will save lives. Whether at work or home, we remind our team to always prioritize fall safety." #safety #mining
