Amoghavarsha is an Investment Data and Analytics Intern this summer. He is from Plano, Texas and is currently studying Business Analytics at UT Dallas. When asked what he hopes to get out of his internship he told us, “As someone who has pursued careers in multiple fields, this internship gives me the opportunity to solidify my current career path as a data engineer. Esther Cho is a User Experience (UX) Research Intern on the Communications team. She is from Austin and is currently studying Information Studies (MSIS program) at the University of Texas. She told us, “This summer, I am keen on gaining hands-on experience with TRS’s website redesign project. I aim to apply my theoretical knowledge practically and take on responsibilities. During July we will be featuring our TRS Internship Program. TRS offers unique summer internships in departments throughout the agency. The internship program provides an opportunity for college students to explore their interested career field while gaining hands-on work experience. The ten week program offers opportunities to develop leadership skills and participate in networking events such as Lunch and Learn sessions. Department Spotlight: Jared, Senior Benefit Processor, has been with TRS for six years. His team works with members on purchasing service credit through installment agreements, pre-tax rollovers, and after-tax payments. These purchases give members the ability to add years of service to their TRS accounts and can assist in retiring early and increasing their annuity!
