About us

Through partnership with local colleges, internships in community businesses and supported living opportunities, Transitions helps young people on the autism spectrum or with learning differences make successful transitions from adolescence to young adulthood. Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities, an experienced staff and an evidence-based curriculum that provides individualized attention and training in skills students will use for the rest of their lives. Transitions gives students the tools and supports they need to learn, thrive, and live happy and productive lives that they and their parents hoped for, but never thought possible.

  • 🎓 Today is a day of celebration as we proudly announce that our Director of Curriculum and Clinical Supports, Dr. Priya Winston, has graduated from the University at Albany with a Ph.D. in Social Work! Guests joined her from around the globe to celebrate! Dr. Winston was key in development of curriculum and best support systems, ensuring Transitions students gain the skills they need for happy and successful lives. But her dedication doesn't stop there – she also leads lunch and learn sessions, develops training for our mentors and Instructors as well as business partners. Dr. Winston and her team ensure student supports in both campus life and real-world challenges.   • April is recognized as “Autism Acceptance Month”. Transitions supports teens and young adults who are diagnosed with Autism or a learning difference. We are excited to be a platinum sponsor of the upcoming Autism Expo 2024 and the Life after High School Resource Fair! The event includes over 65 vendors and exhibitors who are dedicated to supporting quality opportunities and supports. In addition we are thrilled to have subject experts who can offer exceptional guidance and support to attendees at no cost!
