We’re not just a world-class hospital. We’re also an awesome wedding venue! 💍 👰 🤵 Torrance Memorial Medical Center recently had the honor of hosting the wedding ceremony for Chiyanne and Matthew Charlesworth. The beautiful couple from Hollister, Calif. tied the knot at the Turpanjian Family Chapel and took photos with family, friends and Torrance Memorial team members in the adjacent Healing Garden. Their father, Hollister Fire Capt. Timothy Schneider, is a patient in the Transitional Care Unit, recovering from a stroke he suffered while on a cruise to Mexico. Schneider is receiving expert care and is on the road to recovery. Given this life-changing event, Chiyanne and Matthew did not want to wait any longer to make their union official and approached Torrance Memorial Chaplain Doug Lee to help set up the ceremony. Their goal is to have Timothy well enough to walk Chiyanne down the isle when they have a larger ceremony in their hometown this December. “Life is short and very precious,” Chiyanne said. When Torrance Fire learned Timothy was a patient at Torrance Memorial, they stepped up and are providing Chiyanne a place to stay as her dad recovers and make regular visits to the hospital. They even brought out a fire engine for Timothy on his birthday. “The care he has received here has been phenomenal,” said Chiyanne. "Everyone has been so kind and helpful. It’s indescribable. People have been so invested in us as a family.
