Virta Ventures is a pre-seed climate tech fund investing in companies with equity-light B2B business models that are digitizing and decarbonizing energy, transportation, the built environment and agriculture. Virta intends to back “winners” in the equity-light climate tech space that will make up a meaningful portion of the 300 “decacorn” and 1,000 “unicorn” climate tech companies expected to emerge by 2030. You can read more about Virta Ventures in our latest blog post and why the firm generated interest and was eventually invested by a member of the Toniic community. #impactinvesting #climateinvesting #climateaction https://lnkd.in/en2JEnXc

When the Toniic team met Seth at 42 Acres last year, he was out in the gardens, entirely at ease with nature. 🌳 He excitedly showed us his tree house hideout, boat house, and pointed out the wild beaver nests and dams on the property. 🦫 Passionate about nature conservation, regenerative living, and championing sustainability, Seth’s dedication is truly inspiring. Read more to get to know Seth Tabatznik, co-founder of 42 Acres, founder of the Be The Earth Foundation, and member host for the 2024 Toniic Annual Global Gathering in South Africa. ✨ Discover Seth’s story here ✨ #ImpactInvesting #NatureConservation #Toniic #ImpactCommunity

Building the field of impact and directing more capital toward meaningful change requires a collective effort as no single organization or individual can achieve this alone. This spirit of #collaboration is why so many Toniic members attended the #KatapultFutureFest in Oslo, which concluded last week. The event was a hub of inspiring conversations, panels, and connections, featuring Toniic members and board members such as Toniic board chair Michael Au, board members Hedda Pahlson-Moller, Rodrigo Villar, Ruth Shaber, MD, and many other member speakers including Natasha Müller, Johannes Weber, Jed Emerson, Wieteke Zuure, Daniel Almagor, Tim Freundlich, Tera Terpstra and more in attendance! Their presence underscored our shared commitment to driving impactful change and amplifying our collective impact. #collectiveaction #impact #community #impactinvesting

7 investors of the Toniic community are investing in Enduring Planet Fund 2, which announced a first close for their $40M Fund last month. The fund is deploying flexible financing to climate entrepreneurs in the US, including their innovative grant advance loans. When climate startups secure US state and/or federal government grants, it can actually take months for the money to be disbursed. This can leave a startup unable to complete projects and even sometimes at risk of running out of capital. Enduring Planet's grant advance product is providing this capital quickly, with repayment tied to when the company gets the inflow from the government. Read more about why Toniic members invested in our latest post. #impactinvesting #climateinvesting #climateaction #SMEfinancing https://lnkd.in/e8mZEqji
