“Remember that soccer belongs to all, not just the top 1% of the population. It needs to be accessible and inclusive; research shows that sport has the incredible power to change and save lives.” For this week's episode of the World Football Summit Podcast I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with Ashlee Fontes PhD (abd), Founder and owner of the TLH Reckoning about what it takes to build a women’s football team, their business model but also about female leadership, and the overall state of women’s football. The main takeaways for me were: 🔵 Her partnership framework is super interesting. It involves the entire ecosystem combining local partners, a major international brand, the fans, and the players. It really is about creating impact across the entire ecosystem, not about just money. 🔵 Remember that to become an “overnight success” you need years of work. 🔵 It stands out how purpose is so important to her, it drives pretty much all her decisions! Being clear on your “why” is vital to making correct career or life-defining decisions. 🔵 Finally, the football she wants belongs to all of us; football is a public good and it can change the world.
