PROJECT UPDATE: The North Avenue bridge project over the New England Thruway (I-95) in the City of New Rochelle, NY in Westchester County is progressing with the continuation of steel installation later this week. The $31.8 million project to replace the 65-year-old North Avenue bridge with a modern span began in January 2023, with the majority of construction occurring during the day. The three-year project is currently in the first of its three stages, which provides for two lanes of traffic in the center of the existing bridge so its outermost components can be removed, and part of the new crossing built, while maintaining access to downtown.
