About us
The Syracuse Orchestra, Syracuse's premier professional symphony orchestra, is a musician-led cooperative orchestra, one of only two in the United States. This business model is designed to be artistically excellent, administratively lean, and financially resilient. The orchestra presents more than 50 concerts and reaches 100,000 people annually in venues ranging from libraries and health care facilities to public parks, churches, museums, and our home venue, the Crouse-Hinds Theater at the Civic Center. Symphoria is composed of a diverse group of talented musicians hailing from all across the globe, bringing with them a breadth of musical talent that extends far beyond the Syracuse community.

In preparation for our ‘Pride and Joy’ concert, allow us to highlight one of our event performers: Angelo Valentino. Since 2016, Angelo has been performing as drag king within Syracuse and the surrounding areas. He has also won titles such as Mr. All Hallows Eve 2021, Mr. Star Struck 2021 & 2016, and Mister MI Gay Pride Syracuse 2016. One of his favorite things about performing is how it can help others. Whether it’s participating in fundraisers benefiting the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or simply putting a smile on someone's face. He loves that his performance can help make a difference with one smile at a time. To see Angelo perform, purchase tickets for our ‘Pride and Joy’ event at https://lnkd.in/eb4wjBVq

"Largo al factotum" is a famous aria from Gioachino Rossini's opera "Il barbiere di Siviglia" (The Barber of Seville). Sung by the character Figaro, the barber, it serves as an introduction to his bustling personality and his role as the go-to man for solving problems in Seville. The aria's energetic and virtuosic melody captures Figaro's confidence and wit as he boasts about his ability to handle any task, from shaving to matchmaking. If you’re curious to see Jarret Ott perform this piece live, get your tickets for ‘Opera’s Greatest Hits’ at https://lnkd.in/e3AB5f7F
