Our University Avenue Assisted Living Program (ALP) residents recently had a Summer BBQ event in the garden. They enjoyed the festive decorations, warm weather, music, and food. ALP is The New Jewish Home’s Medicaid Assisted Living Program for older New Yorkers in the Bronx offering private studio apartments and an array of on-site wellness and recreational services. Last week, we hosted our 2024 SkillSpring High School Program graduation and it was inspiring to witness how much our remarkable young students have achieved in three short years! All 49 graduates are heading to college in the fall and most will pursue healthcare-related majors. Collectively they spent more than 8,000 hours with our residents, helping care for them and serving as their intergenerational mentees. Kudos to SkillSpring Director Nicole Cash and her team for making the program a success year after year!
