Thanks to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine for the great feature on Hope Clinic's FREE sleep clinics! Your partnership makes this very important medical service possible at Hope! "During the first few months, we learned that sleep care was in high demand among the patients of Hope Clinic. We also realized that most referred patients had moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea, concurrent with other chronic conditions. To date, the free sleep care program has held more than 15 clinics with a total of 75 appointments for new and returning patients, who saw volunteer sleep physicians and respiratory therapists. These patients were highly motivated to improve their sleep and eager to start treatment. Indeed, our sleep service has had a lower no-show rate than all other subspecialties at Hope Clinic." Hope's Pharmacy Coordinator Carla’s persistence turned a "no" into a "no problem" for our medical patients last month. Click to read more. We’ve been receiving more and more calls from patients needing the Shingrix and Pneumovax vaccines. Shingles and Pneumonia are both disruptive and painful ailments—and both preventable. In the past, getting these vaccines required a big cash commitment up front, which doesn't work for a nonprofit like Hope Clinic. Just another example of good health being a privilege reserved for wealthy patients and moneyed providers. Carla decided to "dig in." There had to be a way to get our patients their vaccines! And surely enough, with some persistence, she found one! Now Hope Clinic give these two very critical vaccines to our older patient population. Excellent job, Carla!

Recently, we hit an important integration milestone — 100% of our medical patients received a Behavioral Health Screening. This means that every medical patient was offered the opportunity to be cared for beyond their physical health. This could not be more significant for our patients. At Hope, we recognize that our patients — and everyone — are more than their most urgent need. We are whole people who deserve holistic care, and integration makes this care all the more effective.

We are thrilled to announce Dr. Hana Yosief from Comprehensive Dentistry Ypsilanti as the newest addition to Hope Clinic's Board of Directors. Dr. Yosief, a graduate of the University of Windsor and the Meharry Medical College, brings a mountain of degrees and awards. To name a few, she is a recipient of the Best of Oral Surgery award and Best of Prosthodontics award — she even speaks six languages! But what we love best about her is her heart for healing, and her commitment to see her patients as Whole People. She wanted us to share her favorite Bible verse, Luke 12:48, "to whom much is given, much will be required." Dr. Yosief will enrich our Board of Directors with her expertise and compassion!
