Healthily Secures $5 Million to Expand Cost-Saving AI Solutions for Health Insurers London, June 3rd 2024 — Healthily, a pioneering AI health navigation company, is thrilled to announce that it has secured $5 million in new funding from existing and new investors. This funding will accelerate the growth of our unique cost-saving solutions for health insurers. The confidence of our investors comes on the back of recent achievements including signed pilots with two leading UK health insurers, a major Eastern European health insurer and provider, and a strategic partnership with Recordati (Italy), a global pharmaceutical company. These partnerships aim to provide immediate cost efficiencies with the Healthily DOT™ platform, using AI to optimize member pathways. DOT™ highlights our product market fit by significantly reducing unnecessary and duplicate doctor visits, saving substantial costs for large insurers. Richard Fearn, Healthily chairman, and Bhulo Kansagra of Solai Holdings, who has joined the Healthily board, led the funding round. Trond Riiber Knudsen, a former senior partner at McKinsey, has become an advisor to the Healthily board, further strengthening our leadership team. DOT™ Platform Highlights: ✅ AI Pathway Optimization: The platform identifies and recommends the most suitable - and safest - pathway in every medical scenario. ✅ Health Questions and Answers: DOT™ acts as a virtual health assistant, providing comprehensive, medically validated information to users' health-related queries. ✅ Smart Symptom Checking: Users can assess their symptoms using intelligent algorithms that provide accurate and reliable information for informed decision-making. This technology is registered as a Medical Device Class I in the UK and is currently undergoing the Class II certification process in the EU. ✅ Health Red Flag Awareness: The system intelligently identifies potential red flag symptoms, from indicators of cancer to suicidal thoughts. Matteo Berlucchi, CEO and co-founder of Healthily, said: "We are thrilled with the support of our investors and the success of our DOT™ platform. This solution is redefining the way insurance members are allocated the optimal pathways leading to better health outcomes and driving significant savings for insurers. DOT™ offers unparalleled benefits to both members and payers.” Healthily is committed to providing safe and actionable health information aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (good health and well-being). To support this mission, the website www.livehealthily.com will always be available to all internet users free of charge, with no advertising and no registration required. 💡 To find out more about the DOT™ platform for business, visit www.healthily.ai Thanks to Richard Fearn, Trond Riiber Knudsen, Jonathon Carr-Brown, Maureen Baker CBE, Goran Kukic, Marit Salte, Christer K., Thomas Ljungqvist

HLTH Europe 2024 has concluded, and it was truly an exceptional event! Healthily was thrilled to attend the inaugural HLTH Europe (pronounced 'health'), and we returned both impressed and energized. While Europe hosts several health tech events, HLTH Europe stands out as the best, in our opinion. The venue, logistics, food, and entertainment were all top-notch, contributing to a relaxed and engaging atmosphere for participants. However, the real highlight was the people and the breadth of topics discussed. Here are our key takeaways in the healthtech and AI space: * The urgency to rescue healthcare is evident, with tech and AI emerging as the best candidates. Professor Ian Abbs emphasized in his keynote that 'we are running out of road.' The time to act is now. Although challenging, stakeholders must collaborate to overcome the current hurdles. * Many healthtech companies beyond the seed stage are struggling to grow revenue and secure additional funding. While pre-seed and seed funding are more accessible, investors now seek strong proof from revenue-generating companies. This situation is concerning as promising companies may fail to raise the necessary funds. * We were pleased to see a significant focus on traditionally overlooked areas such as women's health, children's health, and mental health. It feels like healthtech has moved from its 'baby' phase to its 'teenage' phase; several companies have proven their business models and impact and are starting to break away. The increased focus by investors on scalable and proven models is having a cleansing effect, filtering out weaker companies to the benefit of the stronger ones (Darwinian selection in action!). We look forward to next year's edition, which we will certainly not miss. PS: Nice to see lots of friends! 🚀 Exciting News in the Field of Health Tech! 🌐 Findings from the latest Healthily clinical study dives into the ever-growing world of web-based symptom checkers (SCs) and highlights a crucial gap in quality assurance. Despite their rapid adoption, there is no universally accepted standard to evaluate SCs performance. Our research seeks to bridge this gap by addressing the variability in accuracy caused by tester-dependent factors. 🔍 Key Findings: Tester Variability: Using 114 clinical vignettes, we observed that tester instructions significantly impact the accuracy of SCs. Standardizing the vignette testing process improved agreement between testers but could not eliminate all variability Accuracy & Agreement: Agreement between testers for the most likely condition and triage was highest in groups with more structured testing protocols. Adjusted accuracy, accounting for consistent consultation methods, averaged 50.6% Symptom Comprehension: Feasibility was confirmed for comparing symptom comprehension across different SCs, with scores ranging between 52.9% and 68%. 📊 Conclusion: Our study underscores the importance of standardizing vignette testing and measuring isolated performance aspects for reliable SC assessments.  We propose a refined accuracy metric and demonstrate the potential for comparing symptom comprehension with various input methods. This research is a step towards better SC performance evaluation, aiming to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of these vital tools in digital healthcare.
