What does everyone in these pics have in common? We’re all really successful bestselling authors. The generosity of everyone was inspiring but I felt convicted because there aren’t a lot of people who look like me in rooms like this. We’ve been historically locked out of publishing (outside of books about race) and the KNOW HOW to become a bestselling author is hard to come by. I created The Book Academy because as a 4x New York Times bestselling author, I’ve done what very few people have - regardless of race, gender or background. To be in rarefied air ain’t the flex.
