For the past year, we've partnered with canine nutrition researcher, Dr Mark Roberts, to help us explain the science supporting low-carb, high-fat diets for dogs. As an industry, we've raised the standards for ingredients, but we still aren't talking enough about the impact of micronutrients. For example, nearly 60% of dogs are overweight or obese, and the standard nutritional approach of a high-fiber, low-calorie diet in response isn't working.
