Well this sure is interesting… Salesforce partners with Workday What does this mean for higher education? Salesforce now has a direct connection to Workday Finance and HCM. With Salesforce’s now not so secret aim to take on the Student (SIS) Market (of which Workday is a competitor)… potential customers could presumably modernize their Student system on top of their Education Cloud CRM and then migrate to Workday for Finance and HCM. While Salesforce has a long way to go to have a fully functional Student system, this could conceivablely give another path forward for institutions who have not modernized their ERP or who have chosen Workday for FIN and HCM, and are letting the market develop before committing to a modern Student system decision. For those who have not made a decision to modernize on either front, this may be an incentive to wait and see how this plays out. Of course there are other implications for managing employees, as well as recruitment and retention of student due to the combined forces of their AI agents, but as for me the ERP possibilities are what I will be closely watching as the partnership evolves. #higheredtech #highered #higheredcio #futurecampus Follow us at The Tambellini Group for more insights.
