A common mistake made by people changing jobs. They leave a "less than ideal" position/environment to go to an even worse one. Or as the expression goes, "they leap from the frying pan into the fire". 🔥 They don't do it on purpose of course. They just get excited about the opportunity to leave where they are - to do something new, at a new place with new people, and probably even for more $ (in some cases a lot more $). That excitement take over and clouds their judgement. They see what they want to see & hear what they want to hear. Sometimes they are so ready to leave where they are that they don't slow down & do their due diligence on the companies they're interviewing with. - They fail to ask enough questions to really get a clear picture of the opportunity. - They fail to do enough research. - They fail to slow down and listen to their gut. Listen, I'm in recruiting so I'm all for people changing jobs - IF IT MAKES SENSE! That's my job as a Recruiter - to ensure that it makes sense. Sometimes that means I need to challenge candidates to slow down to think things through & make decisions based on logic, not just excitement. Sometimes it takes time to find "just the right thing". Sometimes it takes interviewing at a # of places to really learn what you want - and what you don't want. The RIGHT FIT is out there. Be patient. DON'T settle! MAKE a move for the right reasons.
