Five Australian Jewish students were awarded over $430,000 AUD and costs on Monday after the federal court ruled in their favor in a long-running antisemitism case. The students’ former college, Brighton Secondary College in Melbourne, Victoria, was the defendant in the case. The students had alleged that the college had violated their rights provided by Australia’s Racial Discrimination Act 1975 on multiple occasions. In addition to providing the student plaintiffs with financial support during the case, worked with them and their local counselors in order to assist them in winning the case. Since November of last year we have fought for, and supported these students and their right to attend school without fear, harassment, bigotry, or discrimination. This ruling is an unambiguous victory for the legal rights of Jewish students to be free of antisemitic intimidation at school. ICYMI: The University of Pennsylvania joined the league of campuses that not just tolerate, but openly sponsor, Jew-hatred. In the midst of the Jewish High Holidays, UPenn hosted the “Palestine Writes Literature Festival,” featuring known Jew-haters who, among other things, have expressed support for terrorism and terrorist organizations. People like Roger Waters, Marc Lamont Hill, and Noura Erekat. What UPenn is allowing, essentially, are terrorist sympathizers who deny Jewish identity and indigeneity to colonize the campus space, turning a safe haven of learning into a space that is oppressive and hostile towards Jews. This is unacceptable. "UPenn has a duty, at the very least, to host an event promoting alternative viewpoints…I challenge UPenn to put on an event celebrating Jewish indigeneity in Judea in Samaria. They have a duty to provide a learning environment that promotes well-rounded, unbiased, and healthy education. VICTORY! Lawfare Project secures win as Mayor of Barcelona restores relations with Israel. The Lawfare Project achieved a major victory in the fight against antisemitism, stemming from its lawsuit against the former Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau. Filed this past April, the lawsuit challenged Ms. Colau’s February 2023 suspension of relations with Israel and all its institutions, including the international agreement of cooperation and friendship signed with the city of Tel Aviv. The lawsuit alleged that Ms. Colau exceeded her powers by targeting Israel with such measures. After The Lawfare Project filed suit, Ms. Colau was voted out of office. Now, after evaluating the circumstances, Barcelona's new mayor, Jaume Collboni, reversed his predecessor's actions and restored relations with Israel and with sister city Tel Aviv, bringing an end to Ms. Colau’s discriminatory and illegal boycott. Human rights court urged to re-examine cases involving Jews after Bostjan Zupancic, who worked at the court for 17 years, was found to have shared extremist material online. Zupancic has shared claims that Jews are “the central enemies of Western civilization”, as well as the hook-nosed caricatures commonly seen in neo-Nazi propaganda. posted the claim that Jews “introduced… sexual perversions of all sorts… sadism, masochism, lots of homosexuality” before the Nazis came to power and a link to a YouTube video that supposedly revealed the “rise of the Rothschild banking mafia”. He also shared an assertion that the “Jewish war on white is behind the arson of the West, and unless Jewish power is named as the cancer, there is not hope for the white race”. There is no justice when the people we entrust with the power to judge are racist bigots. Can we truly say that the human rights of the Jewish people have been protected by a Jew-hater like Zupancic? Are there others like him on Europe’s courts? We must eliminate systemic bias in the judicial system, starting with Zupancic. Remember last fall, when student groups at UC Berkeley’s School of Law amended their bylaws to ensure that no Zionist or pro-israel speakers would ever speak at their events, effectively creating what many called “Jew-free zones” on campus? Today, we are seeing the consequences of that sort of systematized Jew-hatred, allowed to fester unchecked by the Berkeley administration. This past weekend, the AEPi Jewish fraternity on campus was targeted by a group of six individuals who placed shellfish at their door, threw it into the house, and scattered it around the premises. This was a calculated and deliberate decision to target Jewish students within the Berkeley campus. This was a hate crime, and needs to be investigated and thoroughly prosecuted as a hate crime. There need to be consequences for such illegal conduct, and we demand swift action by the school to bring the perpetrators to justice. There can be no hesitation or delay in providing justice to the Jewish community. We stand in solidarity with our AEPi brothers, and stand ready to assist with leadership and empowerment seminars, as well as with legal support to protect the rights of Jewish students on campus. This attack on did not happen in isolation. It is a direct consequence of the school administration turning a blind eye to systemic Jew-hatred. By failing to impose harsh consequences on the proponents of “Jew-free zones,” the administration enabled more Jew-hatred. The administration fostered a permissive environment in which it became acceptable to target Jews. Justice requires every instance of Jew-hatred to be punished, to send a clear message that it is a form of bigotry and racism that is unacceptable in modern society. Social justice requires consequences, not tolerance for bigotry and hate. Only in this way can we #EndJewHatred at Berkeley. When a campus environment, led by the school’s administration, permits Jew-hatred going unchecked, we see continuous acts of discrimination and hate. We stand with AEPi and the Jewish community of Berkeley. We will make our voices known, demand consequences, and encourage taking legal action need be. Together we fight to #EndJewHatredonCampus.

Lies that foment hate have no place in our society, let alone on our college campuses. Lies, when believed, are capable of so much damage and destruction. We see this playing out in politics almost every day. But nowhere is it as bad as on college campuses, where lies distort reality for impressionable young minds and create new generations of toxic hatred and bias. Lies are an instrument of control - of patriarchal hierarchy and absolute domination. Lies are an instrument of oppression, giving license to tyranny by endowing it with the popular support of mindless masses that have fallen pray to deceit. Lies about the other feed hatred of the other — they create and foment racism — and man will subjugate or destroy what he hates. This is a story as old as time, and it is also the story of the Jewish experience. Blood libels have been especially effective. Jews killed Jesus. Jews drink the blood of children. Jews harvest Palestinian organs. Again and again, we have seen lies used to control us. To justify colonialism of our lands and of our identity. To discriminate against us and deny our rights and freedoms. And now, we see it at Princeton. How is it acceptable that a university that not 3 years ago stripped Woodrow Wilson’s name from its public policy school over the former president’s “racist thinking and policies” allows use of a book that claims that Jews harvest Palestinian organs? This is nothing more than a blood libel that foments racism against Jews - a lie intended to oppress us. This is what Jew-hatred looks like, coming from a school well-versed in racism. Princeton must finally come to terms with its racism and bigotry. It must rid its campus of this hate-inspiring text and instead educate, truthfully, on the minority rights of the Jewish people.
