JP People Spotlight: Luigi Campanale brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the firm. Born in Milan Italy, Luigi’s passion for design began at an early age. Inspired by Renaissance Architecture, he was drawn to famous architects like Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci who found harmony between human proportions and buildings. “They were so creative and assumed many roles in their work. From project manager and designer to construction manager and strategist. I’ve always liked that about them.” Luigi credits an art professor in high school for recognizing his talent early on and pushing him to pursue architecture as a career. He went on to graduate with a Civil Architecture Degree, which is the equivalent of a Master of Science in the United States. Luigi has spent the last 20+ years working as an architect on a broad range of projects, including residential, historic restoration, and luxury hotels. He considers himself lucky, “A lot of people start a job and then they realize they don’t like it, but I love being an architect.” For Luigi, architecture is a way to make a positive difference. “The most satisfaction I can get is seeing my plan work well, creating a development that affects people in a constructive way”. It’s this motivation to help others that drew him to JP and the firm’s mission of improving quality of life. Luigi joined JP in 2023, “There are so many reasons why I wanted to work for JP, including their emphasis on restoration and revitalization. It starts with a good company and the ability to learn how the market works.” Luigi says the noise mitigation industry also intrigues him, offering a chance to learn and grow. As a Senior Project Designer for JP, Luigi supports the firm’s ongoing projects and plays a strategic role in helping to bring on new business. Luigi previously worked for an Italian design company. Tasked with expanding its reach to Asia, Luigi opened up a branch office in Saigon, Vietnam. Serving as the branch CEO, he grew the Saigon office from 0 to 25 employees in a few short years. Luigi works in JP’s Boston office. He loves the city because it’s safe and clean and offers a great quality of life. Family is his focus; he purchased a car and spends his free time sightseeing in Massachusetts with his wife and 5-year-old son. He also enjoys political science and studying military history and strategy. If he wasn’t an architect, he says he’d most likely do something related to the military in some sort of advisory position.
