Thank you to our volunteers! #nationalvolunteerweek
👏 Let's have a round of applause for our Kennedy Center Volunteers! 👏 This is #nationalvolunteerweek, and as we wrap up the celebration we highlight a few of our volunteers working behind the scenes. https://lnkd.in/eY-fMxGt Volunteering is close to my heart, and close to our mission. After all, President Kennedy was an avid supporter of volunteers, establishing the Peace Corps. Supporting our Kennedy Center volunteers is just one way we can continue to advance his legacy. I look back fondly on my own volunteer experiences, and the lifelong friendships I made! The most recent AmeriCorps report shows 60.7 million Americans volunteer, including our Kennedy Center Friends. In the past year alone, the Friends made incredible contributions to our national cultural center, like... ❤️ 351 active Friends and 150 serving on an as-needed basis ❤️ 59,055 total hours volunteered ❤️ 2,558 tours given to 14,686 visitors ❤️ And so much more....from greeters to admin support...costume menders to Moonshot Studio hosts...Friends are everywhere on our campus (and beyond)! Thank you to our Friends of the Kennedy Center volunteers. We celebrate you this week...and every week! #volunteering #performingarts #givingback #volunteers The John F.
